Please have your students bring in snow gear for recess!

Updates & Reminders

  • With some colder weather expected this week, students should wear all winter gear at bus stops and/or bring winter gear to school. Additionally, we do anticipate the potential need for indoor recess this week depending on the "feels like" temperature (temperature and wind chill).
  • ACCESS testing continues this week for our multilingual learners.
  • In order to play in the snow at recess, students must have boots, a hat/hood, gloves, snow-pants, and a coat. If your child comes without snow clothing, they will be allowed to play on the blacktop area at recess, but not in the snow. We do recommend that students also have a change of clothes in case they get wet. If your child needs snow clothing, please contact Principal James Bergeron.
  • Please drive slowly as you enter the property. We have seen a number of cars driving too fast in the last couple of weeks. This is a safety issue for our students and staff.

  • Cars should not be stopping during arrival/dismissal to drop off/pick up students in the front of the building. In the morning, after 9:05 cars may drop in the front of the building, but should follow the traffic pattern to exit the parking lot.
  • If you're planning to pick up your child in the afternoon, please write your child's First NameLast Name, and Grade on a piece of paper and leave it on your dashboard. This will help move along the process.
  • If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Principal James Bergeron, at JBergeron@Framingham.K12.Ma.Us with any questions.

Are you Interested in Volunteering or Chaperoning a Field Trip?

We love when families want to participate in their child's education! If you are ever potentially going to be directly supporting a student/group of students (chaperoning a small group of students on a field trip for example), you must first pass a CORI check. CORI forms are linked below and can be returned to Yenitza Vargas in the office. Please not, the form asks for the last 6 of your social security number and that you provide a copy of your ID. (We are happy to make that copy for you when you drop the form off.)

Important Notes

  • Please be sure to have your sign so that we know who you are picking up. If you do not have your sign and/or we do not recognize you/your car you may be asked to present an ID.
  • You may notice that at times staff will close down to one lane to support student transition into the building; please be vigilant of staff directing you
  • Please do not ever go around other parked cars unless, explicitly told to do so by a King staff member. This is a HUGE safety issue.

How to Use Captions on YouTube

Turning on Captions

  1. Find the CC button: Look for the button with the letters "CC" on it. It's usually in the bottom right corner of the video player.
  2. Click the CC button: Once you find it, click on it. The captions should appear at the bottom of the video.

Changing Caption Language

  1. Find the gear icon: Look for a small gear icon, usually near the CC button. Click on it to open the settings.
  2. Select "Subtitles/CC": In the settings menu, you should see an option called "Subtitles/CC." Click on it.
  3. Choose a language: You'll see a list of available languages. Pick the language you want to use for the captions.

Early dismissal or change in dismissal plan

Unless a note has been provided with a specific dismissal time, students will not be called to the office for early dismissal until a parent/guardian or caregiver is in the office. Any change in dismissal must be reported to the office by 2:20.

If you need to dismiss your child early or make changes to your child's dismissal plan, please follow the guidelines below:

  • Students will only be dismissed to a caregiver/person on the authorized list located in Aspen X2.

  • If a student will be picked up by an adult not in the X2 Aspen student portal then the parent or guardian must provide notice to the office via phone call, email or written letter.

  • If the custodial caregiver gives permission in writing, a student can be dismissed into another person’s care. Photo identification of the adult will be required at the time of pick up. The photo on the ID must match the individual and the name on the ID must match the name listed on the student’s Emergency Form.

  • If your student is temporarily being left in the care of another adult, please notify the office in writing as to who will be responsible for them. Leave the person’s name, address, telephone numbers, and email address.

  • Parents/Guardians may write a note, call, or email providing an adult permission to pick up their child for a one time pick up and NOT add them to X2 Aspen portal

  • All dismissals are recorded in the main office (or nurse’s office in case of a medical-related dismissal).

  • When a caregiver arrives at the school to pick up a student, they are to report directly to the main office and are not permitted to go to the student’s classroom or any other secure areas of the building.

  • Students may not be removed from the bus line for dismissal; they must report to the front office to be cleared for dismissal by an authorized caregiver.

  • Students who have an assigned bus MAY NOT bring friends on the bus with them to get home.
