Framingham Public Schools is proud to announce that Marielle Crisostamo, an educator at Cameron Middle School, has been named a semifinalist for the 2027 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year award.

The Massachusetts Teacher of the Year program highlights exemplary educators across the Commonwealth, selecting a representative to serve as an ambassador for the state’s educator workforce. Honorees remain in the classroom while engaging with peers nationally, discussing state and national education policy, and speaking to community groups.

The selection process began nearly a year ago with 347 nominations and 67 completed applications statewide. Following a rigorous review of essays, recommendation letters, and classroom teaching videos, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Power of Place narrowed the field down to just seven semifinalists across the state, recognizing Ms. Crisostamo is among this select group of outstanding teachers.

“As Superintendent of the Framingham Public Schools, I am so proud to share in this most deserving recognition of such an incredible teacher in our district” noted Robert A. Tremblay. The district congratulates Marielle Crisostamo on this prestigious recognition and thanks her for her dedication and leadership within the Cameron Middle School community.

“Being named a semifinalist for Massachusetts Teacher of the Year is a testament to the extraordinary impact Marielle has on her students and the school community,” said Cameron Middle School Principal Michelle Melick. “Through her ability to inspire curiosity, empower learners, and make every student feel valued, Marielle makes a lasting difference every day. This recognition celebrates not only her excellence in teaching, but also the passion, dedication, and heart she brings to shaping lives and inspiring futures.”
